Cort Effector "Strat"

This comes from an old Sears catalogue in the mid-Eighties:

Yep, the Cort Effector in its Strat iteration.
I say Strat, because Cort also made an Explorer-like model... that I would like to lay my hands on.

But I digress...

So, a Strat lookalike from Cort, but with built-in effects, hence the "Effector" moniker.

It is a time-honored tradition that all guitars with sophisticated electronics will suck. From what I could gather, the Effector is no exception.

Judge for yourself:

Effects-wise, the Effector is supposed to feature phase, delay, virbrato, wah, chorus, and distortion.

There is also a Kahler style tremolo bridge, pickups are 2 humbuckers...

And you also need two 9 volts batteries to operate this thing - look at the size of the battery compartment:

So, all in all, the Effector is quite the monstrosity.
I pity the budding guitarist who got this as a present from their Mum at Christmas....
