Music Man Armada

Nobody expects the Spanish Inquisition.
Same applies to the Spanish Armada, I guess...

This beauty is made by Music Man, a US company that was once linked to Leo Fender and is now owned by Ernie Ball.

According to Music Man:
"The Armada is a neck-through solid body guitar. Featuring a mahogany body, V-shaped figured maple top, rosewood neck, and custom mother of pearl inlays, the Armada is a true work of art. The combination of tonewoods coupled with a set of Music Man designed classic humbuckers delivers a big and beefy sound with a surprisingly sparkly clean tone you may not expect from such a powerhouse instrument. "

It can't be denied that this two-tone design works extremely well.

Although it might appeal to the Les Paul fans, this guitar actually has more in common with Gibson's Firebird model.

I totally love this one.

The retro styling, the construction, the simplicity of the controls, at 2,999 Euros it is alas out of my price range.

I just hope that one day it will be released by Sterling, the low-cost sister company of Music Man, at a more affordable price...
